AI Pulse · Under the Radar
The play
Test the reusable skill-plus-assets pattern for repeatable creative work, such as product visuals or campaign graphics.
PixelFX pairs a library of small, coded pixel-art effects with a Claude Code skill for creating new ones. The project page currently describes 244 effects, across categories such as fire, weather, impacts and UI. It also explains how to use them in browser games or export sprite sheets for other engines. The skill can help Claude Code find, use, export and make effects. The project’s GitHub page gives example prompts, from adding a frost nova to adjusting how a hit feels.
The practical idea is the pairing: a set of reusable creative assets, plus a defined process for making more. The project describes a loop of rendering an effect, looking at the result, fixing issues and rendering again. That makes the skill more than a prompt shortcut. It’s tied to files, tools and a visual review process. For a business, the broader lesson is to connect AI instructions to the actual materials and steps people use, rather than treating a skill as a standalone chat prompt.
