What Draco Does
Draco sits between AI agents and the infrastructure they operate on. It observes every prompt, action, and payload flowing through production agents in real time, models agent behavior over time, and applies programmable guardrails that can intervene before a high-risk action is taken.
That last part matters. Traditional monitoring catches problems after the fact. Draco is designed to catch them before a poorly behaving agent executes a financial transaction, accesses data it should not, or takes an action that violates a compliance rule.
Key capabilities include:
- Intent interpretation — Draco reads agent reasoning, not just outputs, identifying when behavior drifts from expected patterns or crosses policy thresholds
- Real-time guardrails — Programmable rules that block or flag actions before execution, without requiring changes to agent code
- Compliance mapping — Built-in support for SOC 2, ISO 42001, and the EU AI Act, with audit trails that document every agent decision
- Unified visibility — A single control layer that spans agents running across different clouds, vendors, and internal environments
The platform requires no code changes to existing agents and no SDK integrations. Alterion says organisations can be live within a week.
Why This Is Emerging Now
Alterion was founded by Alharith Hussin, a former McKinsey partner, and Asim Husain, a long-time Google Engineering VP. The pair identified a specific gap that traditional APM tools, SIEM platforms, and AI observability vendors had left open: none of them were built to interpret agent intent.
Security tools capture logs. Observability platforms capture metrics. But when an AI agent takes a multistep action across tools and systems, none of those platforms can tell you whether the agent understood what it was supposed to do, or why it made the decisions it made.
As AI agents take on increasingly consequential work, that gap becomes a real business and regulatory risk. The EU AI Act transparency guidelines published on July 20, 2026 make documentation and accountability a legal obligation for deployers of AI systems. SOC 2 auditors are beginning to ask about agent oversight. Enterprise risk teams are asking questions that current tooling cannot answer.
