Anthropic Hits $100B Revenue Run Rate Ahead of November IPO

Anthropic’s annualized revenue run rate has surged past $100 billion, according to a New York Times report published September 18, 2026 and confirmed by Bloomberg. That figure is up more than 50% from the $65 billion run rate the company reported just two months ago, and more than 10x where Anthropic stood at the end of 2025.

The company has pushed its planned IPO from October to November 2026 to include Q3 financial data, targeting a valuation around $2 trillion. If it reaches that mark, it would rank as one of the largest initial public offerings in history.

What Drove the Jump

The growth is not coming from a single product launch. It reflects broad enterprise adoption of two platforms that matured this year.

Claude Code, Anthropic’s AI coding tool, has become the go-to development assistant for engineering teams at large companies. Organizations using it are reporting significant reductions in the time developers spend on repetitive code tasks, freeing senior engineers to focus on architecture and product decisions.

Cowork, Anthropic’s enterprise collaboration product built around Claude, has picked up traction in knowledge-intensive industries: law, finance, consulting, and healthcare. Teams use it to draft, summarize, analyze, and coordinate work that used to require dedicated analyst or admin time.

Together, these two products have created a compounding effect. Companies that started with a pilot deployment have been expanding seats quarter over quarter. Enterprises that tried Claude once are now running it across multiple departments.

The Pace Is Not Normal

For context, $100 billion in annualized revenue for a company this young is not normal. Salesforce took 20 years to hit $30 billion in actual annual revenue. Microsoft Azure took over a decade to reach comparable scale. Anthropic is projecting a run rate nearly four times that in roughly five years of existence.

The acceleration matters because run rate can be a leading indicator or a lagging one. When companies expand enterprise contracts and renew at higher tiers, it compounds fast. The question for investors and the market is whether the run rate reflects contracted revenue or optimistic projections. For now, Anthropic has not disclosed the split.

What is clear: enterprise buyers are not treating AI software spending as experimental anymore. Budget is being allocated, contracts are being signed, and deployment is moving from IT to operations.

What This Means for Business

The practical takeaway from Anthropic’s growth is not about Anthropic. It is about where enterprise software spending is going.

Companies that have been waiting to see whether AI platforms would stabilize before committing now have their answer. The platforms are stable. The pricing has matured. The use cases are proven. What was experimental in 2024 and early in production in 2025 is now mainstream infrastructure for competitive organizations.

For businesses still running primarily on manual workflows, the window to adopt without urgency is closing. When your competitors are using AI to move faster on coding, analysis, and communication, the cost of waiting accumulates each quarter.

This does not mean rushing into AI without a plan. It means doing the assessment work now, understanding which workflows are most bottlenecked, and identifying where the right tools would actually change outcomes. The organizations that are driving Anthropic’s growth are not the ones that experimented most boldly. They are the ones that got systematic about deployment.

Enterprise DNA works with business leaders at exactly this stage of the journey: moving from curiosity to structured deployment. Whether that is understanding what AI can genuinely do in your operations, upskilling your team to work alongside these tools, or building custom applications around your specific data and workflows, the groundwork matters.
