What people compare CaptivateIQ with

CaptivateIQ publishes no prices, so its pricing is quoted privately. It charges per seat for every admin and commission payee, plus a one-time setup fee. If your bill grows with your team or your rules and records stay inside the vendor’s system, you may be looking for another option.

How to choose

How to choose a CaptivateIQ alternative

  1. 1

    Know what drives the bill

CaptivateIQ charges per seat, counting every admin and every person paid commission. Check whether an alternative also charges by user, and whether setup or accounting reports cost extra. A free version or a system without per-seat plans may suit you if the bill rising with headcount is a concern.

  2. 2

    Keep your records yours

Ask where your commission records and plan rules live, and what you can take with you if you leave. CaptivateIQ lets you export payout records, but the rules that produced them do not export. An owned option keeps your records in a database your business owns.

  3. 3

    Fit your own commission rules

List the rules and fields your team actually uses, including bands, splits, spiffs, draws and clawbacks. Check whether the option covers them now or whether your version can be built around your rules. The free version covers common commission arrangements, while Enterprise DNA can build in rules unique to your business.

  4. 4

    Plan the switch carefully

CaptivateIQ payees, deals and payout reports can be exported as spreadsheet files, but plan rules need to be set up again. Ask how a test import works and how you will check totals. Running one month in both systems gives you a way to compare payouts before switching.

Questions

CaptivateIQ alternatives, answered

How would our CaptivateIQ records move across? expand_more

You can export payees, deals loaded from your CRM and payout reports as spreadsheet files. A test run shows what would come across and what would be skipped. Past payouts keep their totals and original rows. CaptivateIQ plans do not export, so the bands and clawback rules need to be set up again and checked against a month run in both systems.

Can it handle commission rules that are unusual for our business? expand_more

The free version covers monthly quotas, tiered rate bands with an accelerator, split deals, spiffs, draws, corrections and clawbacks. Enterprise DNA can build in rules such as quarterly bonuses, team overrides, multi-currency plans or a rule unique to your business, then test them against a month you have already paid.

What should we expect to pay instead? expand_more

CaptivateIQ publishes no prices. It charges per seat for every admin and commission payee, plus a one-time setup fee, and its revenue accounting report is a paid add-on. Enterprise DNA charges one setup fee, then a monthly retainer. There is no charge per rep, and the free version is available to run yourself.

Will a commission system pay staff or handle tax? expand_more

No. Payroll still pays commission, withholds tax and makes super or KiwiSaver contributions. The system works out commission, freezes statements and gives payroll the totals. It can also check that super reached the fund on time and that New Zealand commission went through payroll.
