Ten questions the free version answers today
Hub Planner has reporting and capacity tools. These examples show what the free version can already answer from its fictional demonstration records.
Switching
How to switch from Hub Planner
A move usually involves exporting your account records, mapping your fields and calendars, testing the import, then checking the new records against Hub Planner before switching over.
- 1
Export your Hub Planner records
Use Hub Planner's account CSV exports for resources, projects, bookings and time entries. The records you can export depend on your account, so check with Hub Planner if you cannot find an export or need other records. Keep the original exports unchanged. You can decide which history to bring over after you see what is available and how it maps to the new system.
- 2
Map and test the import
Before loading your records, map the export headings and people's working calendars to the fields the new system supports. Start with a test run so you can review what would be imported before you proceed. The importer supports people, projects and all-day booking records. It does not treat every booking or related record as a supported allocation, so account for those differences in your mapping.
- 3
Review the import warnings
Check the test results for unknown booking states, changed source records and records that need review. Compare names, dates, statuses and booked hours with Hub Planner. Pay particular attention to the working calendars and any bookings that are not all-day. Time entries, time off, holiday calendars, hourly bookings, rates and approval history need separate mapping rather than being assumed to come across in the booking import.
- 4
Run both systems side by side
Load the mapped records, then keep using Hub Planner while you compare the new records against it for a short period. Reconcile people, projects, booking dates, statuses and hours, and repeat imports for records that have changed. The importer preserves original fields and leaves changed source records for review. Nothing in the import calls or changes Hub Planner, so you can check the records before relying on the new system.
- 5
Switch off Hub Planner
Once the records you need are imported and reconciled, make the new system your working source for resource planning. Confirm that the team knows where to check availability and bookings, and that any separately mapped history is accounted for. Then switch off Hub Planner according to your own account and retention requirements. Keep the original exports and any records you still need under your normal data-handling practices.
Where the real effort goes
The real work is usually mapping your own fields and working calendars, deciding which booking types and history to bring, and checking that the imported records match the source. Time entries, time off, holidays, rates and approval history need separate mapping. If you have Enterprise DNA run the migration, they do this scoping and mapping work with you before the switch.

Questions
Instead of Hub Planner, answered
Is Hub Planner still the right name to look for? expand_more
Hub Planner now appears as Resource Flow on Milient's website. Its pricing page links to Hub Planner signup, and the Hub Planner help centre still documents account exports. We scope the migration against the version and export you actually use.
Will our bookings and history come across? expand_more
The free version imports people, projects and supported all-day booking records after the headings and working calendars are mapped. Do a test run and compare dates, statuses and booked hours. Time entries, time off, holiday calendars, hourly bookings, rates and approval history need separate mapping. Enterprise DNA scopes that work before the switch.
Can we keep a visual schedule for the team? expand_more
Yes. Enterprise DNA can build a web front end around your version, including the scheduling views your team needs. We agree mobile access, live collaboration and connections as part of that work. The free version produces read-only planning reports and documents.
Does a capacity check mean the person has agreed to the work? expand_more
No. It checks recorded availability, role and skill. The planner still confirms the assignment with its owner. Record checks flag overload, missing owners and retention reviews; they do not certify compliance or calculate pay and leave entitlements.
What will Enterprise DNA charge, and can we leave later? expand_more
One setup fee, then a retainer for the agreed customisation and operation. Sam scopes the work with you. The free base has an MIT licence and your version uses a database you own. Hosting, coding-agent use and any connected services carry their own costs.
