Enterprise DNA

Instead of INSIGHT

Your book, off INSIGHT. Owned by your brokerage.

Enterprise DNA builds your version around how your office places, renews and services cover, maps your INSIGHT records across, and runs it for you. You can keep trading through whichever insurer platforms you already use.

Steadfast publishes no price, licence fee or subscription for INSIGHT. It is arranged through Steadfast for brokers in its network, and Steadfast has announced it is being combined with SCTP into Steadfast Apps.

What INSIGHT ties you to

A network system, an unpublished cost, and a platform change already announced

INSIGHT is described as a back-office system for policy administration, claims handling and reporting, used by brokers across its network. The clients and policies inside it were won by your office. Here is what sits between you and them.

request_quote

No published cost

Steadfast lists no price for INSIGHT on its public pages. What a brokerage pays is a matter between it and Steadfast.

hub

Tied to the network

INSIGHT is Steadfast's own system for brokers in the Steadfast network. Your back office sits on the network's technology, not your own.

sync_alt

A migration you did not ask for

Steadfast announced in April 2026 that INSIGHT and SCTP are being combined into one system under Steadfast Apps, starting with INSIGHT. No finish date was given.

update

Features on their release schedule

New capability arrives to all users each quarter. A change your office needs this month waits for the roadmap, or does not come.

No public way out

Steadfast's public pages say nothing about how a brokerage takes its records somewhere else.

What you get instead

A broker back office that answers questions

Renewals

Every renewal with a stage and an owner

Not just an expiry date in a list. Each renewal shows where it has got to and who last spoke to the client.

  • check Renewals grouped by how close they are: sixty days, thirty, fourteen, and lapsed
  • check The premium and brokerage riding on each group, largest untouched client first
  • check Renewals waiting on insurer terms past the promised date, with the number of days
  • check A lapsed policy still showing as current is flagged at the top, not left in a report

Compliance

Advice files checked against the rules you work under

Scope, recommendation, reasons, alternatives, risks and remuneration are kept as separate parts of each advice file, then checked against the codes your licence answers to.

  • check Any placement in the past year with no advice file behind it, listed in one question
  • check Checks cite the Insurance Brokers Code of Practice clause they test
  • check New Zealand checks cite the Financial Markets Conduct Act and the Code of Professional Conduct
  • check Rewrite a check in plain English when your licence conditions change

Claims

Claims ranked by silence

Every step of a claim is recorded, and the list is ordered by how long the client has gone without hearing from you.

  • check Days since the client last heard about each open claim, shown beside the reserve
  • check Claims lodged with an insurer and never acknowledged, with the insurer named
  • check One read of a claim from first notice to the latest step
  • check An update to the client drafted from the record, for a broker to check and send

Ownership

Records and documents that stay with the brokerage

Whatever happens to the network's platforms, your book sits in your own database. Client money never touches it: the trust account stays where it is today.

  • check Renewal summaries, schedules and claim letters produced in your own branding
  • check Read-only pages for the week ahead and the renewal pipeline
  • check Brokerage earned by insurer and by month, and accruals that never reconciled
  • check Your INSIGHT records mapped across and counted against the originals

Switching

How to switch from INSIGHT

The move usually involves exporting the records INSIGHT lets you produce, mapping its columns to the new database, and checking the imported book before you rely on it.

  1. 1

    Get your records out

Ask INSIGHT which reports or spreadsheets your account can produce. Export what it allows, usually CSV or Excel, and check the available options with INSIGHT. Gather the client, contact, policy and claims records you want to carry over. If available, include renewals, advice records, tasks and brokerage records. Client money and trust account records stay in your accounting system, not in this system.

  2. 2

    Load a test import

Use the import to load your exported records. Start with its test run before writing records, so you can review what it recognizes. The import reads a different broker system's export format, so INSIGHT columns need mapping. Keep your original exports unchanged while you work through the test and any mapping needed.

  3. 3

    Review the import flags

Check what the test or import flags, including fields that do not map cleanly and records that need attention. Resolve the mapping issues before relying on the imported data. Then compare every client and policy count against INSIGHT, as well as checking records that matter to your office. The counts and checks help show whether the book came across as expected.

  4. 4

    Run both side by side

Keep INSIGHT available as your reference while you use the new database for a short period. Check migrated records against INSIGHT and work through your usual policy, renewal and claims tasks. Note anything missing or mapped incorrectly, then correct it before you make the new system your source of truth. Keep the scope of the trial clear so your team knows which system to update.

  5. 5

    Switch off INSIGHT

Once you have checked the records and are comfortable working from the new database, make it your source of truth and switch off INSIGHT if you no longer need it. Confirm that the records your office chose to bring across are present. Your Steadfast network membership and insurer quoting or placing arrangements are separate decisions from where your back-office records live.

construction

Where the real effort goes

The main work is usually mapping INSIGHT's columns to the new database and deciding how much history to bring across. Export options vary, and the free version reads a different broker system's format, so expect some checking and adjustment. Enterprise DNA handles the mapping and checks counts for every client and policy when you have them run the migration.

Questions

Instead of INSIGHT, answered

What does INSIGHT cost, and what would this cost? expand_more

Steadfast does not publish a price for INSIGHT, so the real figure is whatever your brokerage pays through Steadfast. Our version is one setup fee, then a monthly retainer, with no charge per broker. Bring what you pay today to the call and we compare the two honestly.

Can we leave INSIGHT and stay in the Steadfast network? expand_more

This page is about where your back-office records live, not about your network membership. Broking for Claude Code holds your clients, policies, claims and advice files. How you quote and place with insurers, and your relationship with Steadfast, are yours to decide, and we work around whatever you keep.

INSIGHT is moving into Steadfast Apps anyway. Why not wait? expand_more

You can. Steadfast has announced the combination but not a finish date, and new capability arrives on its quarterly schedule. If your office is going to go through a change of system either way, it is worth looking at one where the records and the rules belong to you before you commit.

How do our records come out of INSIGHT? expand_more

Steadfast does not publish an export method, so the first step is taking whatever reports and spreadsheets INSIGHT lets you produce. The free version reads a different broker system's export format, so INSIGHT's columns need mapping. That mapping, and checking every client and policy count against what you had, is part of what Enterprise DNA does.

Does the trust account move? expand_more

No. This system never holds client money, records a premium receipt or reconciles a trust account. That stays in the accounting system already carrying that obligation. What moves is the policy record, renewals, claims, advice files, tasks and the brokerage your office earns.
