The options

What people compare JAVLN with

JAVLN prices per user per month, quoted on application, with modules and implementation charged separately on top. Owners start looking for an alternative once every added seat, module and change request pushes the bill further away from what the business actually does.

Often compared

Insight

An insurance broker system named alongside JAVLN as one of the platforms brokerages hold their records in and export from when they move to something else.

Often compared

WinBEAT

Another broker management system named alongside JAVLN, also listed as a source brokerages export their client, policy and claims data from when switching.

How to choose

How to choose a JAVLN alternative

  1. 1

What the bill is actually tied to

JAVLN prices per user per month, then adds modules and implementation on top. That means every extra seat, every added module and every change request grows the bill, whether the extra person logs in daily or once a fortnight. Check what headcount, not workload, is costing you each month.

  2. 2

    Whether your records stay yours

Twenty years of policies, claims and correspondence can end up sitting in a database you cannot query directly. Leaving means asking the vendor for an export of data your own business created, and paying to have it moved. Ask who can pull the data out, and on what terms.

  3. 3

Whether it fits your own rules

Renewal lists, claims boards and brokerage reports often come exactly as the vendor drew them. If your renewal process changes, or your compliance rules need a different wording, check whether that is a simple edit or a paid change request that takes weeks to land.

  4. 4

    What the switch itself involves

Moving off a broker system means exporting clients, policies, contacts and claims, then checking what carries across cleanly and what does not. Some fields, such as advice records or policy sections, may not exist in the old system at all, so a test run before the real move matters.

The option that fits

Own the version built around how you broke

Instead of renting seats in someone else's screens, Enterprise DNA builds a version of Broking for Claude Code around how your brokerage actually runs, brings your JAVLN data across, and runs it for you. There is one setup fee, then a monthly retainer, with no per-seat pricing. A free version also exists for an owner who wants to run it themselves first.

Questions

JAVLN alternatives, answered

Do I have to pay for every person who touches a policy? expand_more

With JAVLN, yes, pricing is per user per month, so an account executive, a claims broker, a support person and a principal are four seats even if some log in only occasionally. Broking for Claude Code has no per-seat plans, one setup fee and a monthly retainer cover the business, not headcount.

What happens to our policy and claims history if we switch? expand_more

You export clients, policies, contacts and claims from JAVLN, Insight or WinBEAT as a spreadsheet, then bring it across with a test run first that shows exactly what would be created and what would be skipped. Advice records and policy sections do not carry over, because most broker systems do not hold them as separate fields.

Can we change the compliance checks to match our own licence? expand_more

Yes. Advice records are kept as separate fields, scope, recommendation, reasons, alternatives, risks, limitations and remuneration, and checked against rules that cite the actual clause, such as Insurance Brokers Code of Practice 7.2(a) or the FMCA sections 431I to 431P. Change a rule in plain language and the check changes with it.

Does our trust accounting move with the rest of our data? expand_more

No, and it should not. The system never holds client money, records a premium receipt or reconciles a trust account, that stays exactly where it is, in the accounting system that already carries that regulated obligation. What moves is the policy lifecycle, advice records, claims, tasks and the brokerage your business earns.
