Switching

How to switch from Salesforce Feedback Management

A move usually involves exporting response records, mapping your questions and details, testing the import, and checking the new review process before changing subscriptions.

  1. 1

    Export response records

Ask your Salesforce Feedback Management administrator how to export the response records your account allows, usually as CSV or Excel, and check with Salesforce if you are unsure. Include the responses, answers, questions and record details you need to review. Keep a copy of the original export. The new desk works from exported responses, so you do not need a live Salesforce connection.

  2. 2

    Map and test the import

Match the exported question headers and record details to the fields in the new desk. Start with a test run, which checks the mapped export without changing the database. Numeric and text answers, including NPS and CSAT, are supported. Ranking and multiple-selection answers need a reviewed transformation before they can be brought across.

  3. 3

    Check exceptions and totals

Review the test results before importing for real. Compare response counts and scores, and check that questions and answers match the source records. The import skips unchanged repeat records and stops if it finds a changed source record. Agree how to handle records or answer types outside the supported scope, including any ranking or multiple-selection answers that need transformation.

  4. 4

    Run both side by side

Keep Salesforce Feedback Management running while your team reviews responses and follow-ups in the new desk. Compare the records, counts and scores, and check that owners can find the work they need. Keep a working survey collection channel during this period. The new desk covers internal review of exported responses, not Salesforce's hosted survey collection and distribution.

  5. 5

    Switch off Salesforce

Once the new review process and any replacement collection channel have been built and checked, decide whether you are ready to end the Salesforce service. Confirm which records and history you need to keep, and retain the exports you rely on. Check your actual subscription and contract before changing it. The published list price does not establish what your organisation pays.

construction

Where the real effort goes

The main work is usually mapping your question headers, record details and score rules, then deciding how much response history to bring. Numeric and text answers are supported, while ranking and multiple-selection answers need a reviewed transformation. You also need to compare counts and scores and agree how to handle records outside the import scope. When Enterprise DNA runs the setup, it does this mapping and import work with you.

Questions

Instead of Salesforce Feedback Management, answered

Does this replace the whole Salesforce survey service? expand_more

The free version covers the internal response-review desk: scores, comments, follow-ups and working papers. Keep a working collection channel. Enterprise DNA can build your forms and connections into your version, then test the complete workflow before you change subscriptions.

Can we bring our existing Salesforce responses? expand_more

Yes, supported numeric and text answers can come across from an exported response file after its questions and record details are mapped. Ranking and multiple-selection answers need a reviewed transformation. We test the import, compare counts and scores, and agree the treatment of records outside that scope.

Are you saying we will save the whole Starter bill? expand_more

No. The published Starter and Growth fees describe those editions, not every customer contract. The smaller Survey Response Pack also exists. We compare your actual bill, collection needs, setup work and ongoing costs before recommending a change.

How are sensitive comments and record reviews handled? expand_more

The desk keeps original response rows and a change history. It flags missing accuracy checks and overdue retention reviews, and requires evidence before closing follow-up work. Your team still sets access, lawful purposes and retention rules. We build those arrangements into the managed version.

What if we want to run it ourselves later? expand_more

The code is open source and the database is yours. You can export every record, original response row and audit entry. The free version has no licence fee from Enterprise DNA. Hosting and the tools you choose to operate it remain your costs.
