Switching

How to switch from Salesforce Marketing Cloud Intelligence

A move usually involves agreeing which campaign results and history to bring over, then checking the imported totals against your current reports.

  1. 1

    Export a campaign-day report

Ask Salesforce Marketing Cloud Intelligence for a data report exported to CSV, with one record per campaign per day. Agree the measures, currency, date range and totals you need before exporting. The replacement imports aggregate campaign results, not your whole Salesforce account. Dashboards, connector configurations, custom calculations and attribution models need separate migration work.

  2. 2

    Load the agreed report

Start with the import's dry run, then load the report into a fresh business workspace, separate from demonstration data. The import uses supported fields from the agreed report. Imported campaigns start without an owner and with a zero budget, so set the right owners, flight dates and budgets before relying on pacing results.

  3. 3

    Review the import checks

Read the dry-run results and address anything they flag before saving the import. Check that the measures, currency and date range match what you agreed, then compare the imported totals with the source report. If a field or result does not match, resolve it before treating the new records as your working figures.

  4. 4

Run both systems side by side

Keep Salesforce Marketing Cloud Intelligence available for a short overlap while you use the new performance desk. Compare the same campaigns, dates, measures and currencies in both reports. Check spend and reported conversions against the source, and confirm that budgets and flight dates are correct. Reported revenue comes from the source data, not accounting reconciliation.

  5. 5

    Switch off the old system

Once you have checked the imported history and reconciled the results you need, move your regular performance review to the new desk. Make sure your team knows where to review results and record decisions. Then switch off Salesforce Marketing Cloud Intelligence if you no longer need its separate connections, dashboards, attribution or campaign operations.

Where the real effort goes

Most of the work is mapping your fields and business rules, then deciding how much history to bring and checking that it matches the source. Dashboard designs, custom calculations, connector configurations and attribution models are separate migration work. If you have Enterprise DNA install and run the replacement, they handle this mapping and setup as part of the agreed build.

Questions

Instead of Salesforce Marketing Cloud Intelligence, answered

Is this the same as replacing the whole Salesforce platform? expand_more

The free base covers the exported-results performance desk. Salesforce also provides connections, attribution and automated campaign operations. We agree which of those your business needs and build the additional work into your custom version.

Can we bring our Marketing Cloud Intelligence history? expand_more

Salesforce supports data reports exported to CSV. The free version imports an agreed report with one record per campaign per day. We check the measures, currency, date range and totals with you. Dashboard designs, custom calculations and other history need a separately agreed migration.

Does the return figure prove the campaign caused those sales? expand_more

It reports the revenue and conversions in your source data. Channel attribution can overlap, and reported revenue is not audited profit. We scope reconciliation or a different measurement model around the decisions you need to make.

Will it change our ad budgets or pause campaigns? expand_more

The free version records budgets and decisions in your own system. It does not change an advertising account. If you want connected campaign actions, we define the approvals and build those connections into your version.

What do we pay Enterprise DNA, and what stays ours? expand_more

There is one setup fee for the agreed build, then a retainer if we run it for you. Your database and code remain yours. Book 30 minutes with Sam to compare your actual software bill and decide what your version needs.
