What people compare Smartabase with

Smartabase, now called Teamworks AMS, has no public price and Teamworks quotes each organisation privately. Owners often look for an alternative because the bill depends on what they take and negotiate, while custom forms hold records their staff already keep.

How to choose

How to choose a Smartabase alternative

  1. 1

    How the bill is set

Teamworks does not publish a Smartabase price. It quotes each organisation, so the bill depends on what you take and how you negotiate. Buying more than one Teamworks product brings no automatic discount, so compare the quoted costs for the products you need.

  2. 2

    Who owns your records

Your athlete, wellness, training load and injury records matter beyond the screens used to view them. Smartabase says its forms are customised for each organisation, and its uploader accepts data you already have. Check how you can access and keep your records if you change systems.

  3. 3

Fit with your rules and fields

Smartabase forms can be customised for each organisation, but dashboards show the questions someone built a chart for. A new question means a new build. Consider whether the system can reflect the fields and rules your staff actually use, without waiting for each change.

  4. 4

    What switching involves

Smartabase supports exports of forms and data. A move still needs your records mapped and checked, because each site has its own forms. Before switching, confirm which athlete, injury and training records will come across, test the transfer, and check the results against your current system.

The option that fits

A version built around your programme

If a quoted price and forms designed for your organisation do not fit how your programme works, owning your version may suit better. Enterprise DNA builds it around your staff's rules and fields, brings your Smartabase data across and runs it for you. The records sit in a database you own. The paid option has one setup fee, then a monthly retainer. There is also a free version you can run yourself.

Questions

Smartabase alternatives, answered

How would our Smartabase records move to an alternative? expand_more

Export each Smartabase form, including athlete, wellness, RPE, injury and test records. A test run shows what will transfer before it is saved, and repeating the run does not create duplicates. For a paid version, Enterprise DNA maps your forms and checks athletes, injuries and the latest month of load before the switch.

Can athletes still answer wellness questions on their phones? expand_more

The free version lets staff record forms or bring in responses from an existing form. For a version built for your programme, Enterprise DNA can make a short phone form with your current questions, sending answers straight to your records. That gives athletes a phone-based way to answer while keeping the questions your staff already ask.

Will our GPS and testing data still be available? expand_more

The free version can take distance and high-speed running when those figures are in the session export. In a version built for your programme, Enterprise DNA connects your GPS units and testing equipment directly, so session figures arrive without staff retyping them.

What will a Smartabase replacement cost, and who keeps the data? expand_more

Smartabase has no public price and Teamworks quotes each organisation privately. Enterprise DNA charges one setup fee, then a monthly retainer, with scope agreed after reviewing your quote, squads and staff practices. There is also a free version you can run yourself. Your athletes' health information stays in a database you own.
