A separate project for connecting AI assistants to the x64dbg debugger is gaining attention quickly. In three days, duty1g/x64dbg-mcp-server has reached 1,364 GitHub stars, at a reported pace of 426 per day. It exposes 71 MCP tools across disassembly, breakpoints, memory inspection, tracing, and reverse engineering. It’s built in Zig and has zero dependencies.

The important point is not the star count on its own. This is a distinct project, built independently from the debugger-MCP project we covered earlier this week. Two tools in the same narrow category attracting this level of interest in one week is a useful signal. Developers are actively testing what happens when an AI assistant can work directly with serious technical tooling, rather than only answer questions about it.

For a business owner, this is an early indicator of where specialist work is heading. The immediate use case is technical, especially software analysis and debugging. But the broader pattern matters: AI is moving closer to the systems where work actually happens, with controlled tools for inspecting, tracing, and acting on information. That creates real value, but it also raises the bar for permissions, oversight, and auditability. This is the kind of thing we build into an AI command centre, where teams can see what AI tools are connected to and how they’re being used.
