The play
Position AI governance as an operating requirement, and assess whether a central control plane can manage permissions, monitoring, and accountability.
Salesforce has launched what it calls an Enterprise AI Harness, including an AI Control Plane designed to help organisations manage AI agent deployments across the business. The core idea is straightforward. Once teams start putting multiple AI agents into real workflows, someone needs visibility over what those agents are doing, where they are operating, and how they are governed. Salesforce’s announcement is reported in the original report.
This matters because AI projects rarely stay contained to one team for long. Sales may deploy one agent, customer service another, and operations a third. Without a central way to oversee those deployments, companies can end up with duplicated work, inconsistent rules, unclear ownership, and limited confidence in what is happening across the organisation.
The bigger signal here is market validation. A major enterprise software vendor is treating AI operations and governance as a product category in its own right, not just an add-on after agents have been built. For business owners, that suggests the question is moving beyond, “Can we build an AI agent?” It is becoming, “Can we run AI across the company with clear control and accountability?” This is the kind of thing we build into an AI command centre, giving leaders a practical view of where AI is being deployed and how it is managed.
