The play

Watch curated skill directories, and test one for sourcing vetted agent capabilities before building an internal catalog.

Skillbay is a new listing site for AI agent skills. Its pitch is simple. Instead of searching through large repositories filled with automatically generated submissions, people can browse a smaller set of skills that have been curated by humans. Think of it more like Craigslist for agent capabilities than a conventional code library.

That distinction matters because finding a useful agent skill is becoming a real operational problem. A business owner might want an agent that can prepare a sales brief, check a document against policy, or pull together a weekly performance update. The hard part is not always building it. It is knowing what already exists, whether it is credible, and whether it fits the job.

Skillbay is still very early, with 10 points and four comments around its launch, so this is not proof of demand yet. But the idea is worth watching. As more companies use agents, discovery and trust will matter as much as the underlying models. A curated directory could become useful if it helps teams avoid wasting time sorting through low-quality or duplicate skills. You can see the early concept at Skillbay’s site.

This is the kind of thing we build into an AI command centre, where teams need a clear view of the tools, agents, and capabilities available to them.
