"CRM is dead" claim spreads on LinkedIn

The play

Position AI sales systems around specific workflow outcomes, while preserving CRM records needed for forecasting, compliance, and continuity.

A LinkedIn post arguing that AI-native sales systems are starting to displace traditional CRM tools has drawn 122 comments, which suggests the idea is getting attention among people thinking about how sales teams should operate. You can read the original post here. The claim is anecdotal, with no named companies or performance figures behind it, so it’s not evidence that CRM is actually dead.

Still, the underlying question matters. Traditional CRM asks people to log activity, update records and work inside a system after the real work has happened. An AI-native approach aims to make the system more active, pulling together context, prompting next actions and helping sales teams act on what’s already happening across the business.

For an owner, don’t read this as a reason to rip out your CRM. Read it as a prompt to ask whether your current setup helps people make better decisions, or mainly creates admin. If sales information is fragmented, follow-up depends on memory, and managers only see problems after the fact, the issue isn’t necessarily the CRM itself. It’s the operating layer around it.

This is the kind of thing we build into an AI command centre, bringing business context and useful actions together rather than asking your team to spend more time feeding another dashboard.
