The play
Publish a balanced MCP assessment, including failure cases and alternatives, instead of treating community criticism as settled consensus.
A post arguing that “MCP was always a bad idea” has moved beyond a niche technical debate and into the wider AI conversation. It reached 311 points and 291 comments, which tells you the topic is attracting real attention, not just passing interest from developers. You can read the original post for the argument behind the backlash.
For business owners, the useful lesson isn’t to join a pile-on or declare any technology dead. It’s to ask harder questions before building important workflows around an emerging standard. What happens if the standard changes? Who owns the connections between your AI tools and company systems? Can you monitor what the AI is accessing, and turn it off quickly if something goes wrong?
This is a chance for EDNA to take a measured position. MCP may be getting criticised, but the underlying business need remains clear. Companies want AI that can work with their real data, systems and processes without creating a mess of fragile integrations. The strongest response is not blind enthusiasm or blanket rejection. It’s practical governance, clear controls and an architecture that can adapt as the tooling matures. This is the kind of thing we build into an AI command centre, so operators can see what their AI is connected to and stay in control.
