The play
Track fast-growing agent harnesses, but prioritize portable workflows and avoid building critical operations around one rapidly changing platform.
DeepSeek’s open-source agent framework, deepseek-harness, has attracted attention at a rare pace. It is gaining roughly 5,556 GitHub stars a day and has reached 235,078 stars in 42 days, according to the project’s GitHub page. Its pitch is simple, if broad: an agent harness where everything is a plugin.
GitHub stars are not the same as active customers or proven business value. They do, however, show where developers are looking. Right now, a lot of that attention is moving towards flexible agent tooling, rather than single-purpose AI apps. The idea is to give teams a base framework, then connect the models, tools, data sources and actions they need through plugins.
For an operator, the practical takeaway is not that you should deploy this project tomorrow. It is that the AI stack is becoming more modular. Your future AI workflows may not live inside one software product. They may combine different models and business tools around a common orchestration layer. That makes governance, visibility and ownership more important, because someone needs to know what each agent can access, what it is doing and where failures sit. This is the kind of thing we build into an AI command centre, giving leaders a clearer view across the growing set of AI tools their teams use.
