AI Pulse · Under the Radar
The play
Test public, shareable agent competitions as a marketing format, measuring engagement before investing in a larger campaign.
A small Show HN launch called TinyAIArena reached the Hacker News front page on the day it launched, drawing 93 points and 40 comments within hours. The idea is simple, AI agents compete in matches people can watch. That visible, competitive format is doing a lot of the work.
Most AI products are hard to show. A chatbot answering a question or an automation running in the background rarely makes for compelling content. Put two agents into a clear contest, though, and people immediately understand what they are looking at. They can pick a side, question the result, share a clip, and come back for another match. It turns an abstract capability into something with a beginning, middle, and outcome.
For operators, the lesson is not that every business needs an AI arena. It is that AI work becomes easier to explain when people can see it perform against a defined task. If you are building internal tools, customer-facing AI, or even training material, ask whether you can make results visible. Show the input, the choices made, and the final output. A simple comparison between two approaches can be more useful than a polished product demo.
This is also the kind of thing we build into an AI command centre, making AI activity visible enough that a business owner can review what happened rather than take it on trust.
