The play
Block's free Buzz platform seeds agent-native workflow infrastructure, consider it as a no-cost backbone for client agent deployments.
Jack Dorsey’s company Block just released Buzz, a free, open-source collaboration tool that treats AI agents as full team members. Think Slack or GitHub, but designed from the ground up so tools like Claude Code, Codex, and Block’s own Goose agent can participate in conversations and workflows exactly like a human would.
Every message and workflow step gets stored as a signed Nostr event, which means the entire history is portable and verifiable. You are not locked into one vendor’s database. TechCrunch reported that Dorsey is giving this away to seed adoption, the same wedge strategy we see in other parts of the market.
Why this matters
Most collaboration tools bolt AI on as an afterthought. Buzz flips that. If your team already uses agents to write code, pull data, or draft documents, those agents now have a seat at the table instead of living in separate tabs or API calls. The workflow becomes one thread, not a patchwork of human chat and agent outputs you copy-paste around.
The free, open-source angle is the real play. Dorsey wants this to become infrastructure, the way Linux became infrastructure. If it works, companies adopt it without friction, and Block shapes how the next generation of work tools get built. If you are running a business that mixes human and AI work, this kind of unified command layer is exactly what tools like the Omni Command Centre are designed to handle. You need one place where people and agents coordinate, not five disconnected platforms.
Whether Buzz wins or not, the pattern is clear. The companies giving away the rails today will own the switches tomorrow.
