The play
Treat agent coordination as a potential enterprise upsell, but validate claimed revenue with customer demand and measurable usage.
Linear’s CEO says the company is closing several enterprise deals each quarter where the stated use case is helping teams coordinate AI agent work. He also says Linear’s AI-driven revenue is growing roughly 500% per quarter, while traffic through its MCP connections is up 50% month over month.
Treat those figures as directional, not as audited business results. This came from a founder’s post, not a filing or earnings release. We don’t know what Linear includes in “AI revenue”, how large that revenue base is, or whether the growth rate will hold. A small starting number can produce a very large percentage.
Still, the customer behaviour behind the claim matters. Companies are moving beyond asking employees to use a chatbot for occasional drafting or research. They’re starting to ask a more operational question: how do we assign, track, review, and coordinate work done by a mix of people and AI agents? That creates demand for systems that make agent activity visible and accountable, especially in product, engineering, support, and internal operations.
For business owners, the lesson isn’t to buy another tool because it has AI attached. It’s to identify where agent work could create confusion in your company. Who sets the task, what data can the agent access, who checks the output, and where does the work get recorded? The firms that answer those questions early will have a clearer path from AI experiments to repeatable operating processes.
This is the kind of thing we build into an AI command centre, bringing AI activity, workflows, and oversight into one practical view.
