Mortgage broking · Worked example
Fixed-rate expiry reminders for a mortgage broker
Contacts existing clients before their fixed rate ends and books a review, so the broker keeps the relationship.
The problem
When a fixed term ends, the bank sends its own offer and many clients just take it. The broker never gets the chance to review the loan, and the client may miss a better option.
How it works
- Reads each client's rate expiry dates from the broker's CRM
- Sends a text a set number of weeks before expiry, then follows up by phone
- Explains that the broker will review options, without quoting any rates itself
- Books a short review meeting in the broker's calendar
- Logs every contact attempt and outcome against the client record
What it connects to
- AgentHi Leanne, it's the mortgage team. Part of your home loan comes off its fixed rate on 12 December. Would you like a quick review with your broker before then?
- ClientYes, actually. Can you just tell me what the rates are now?
- AgentYour broker will go through current options with you, since the right choice depends on your plans. Would Tuesday at 12.30 by phone work?
- ClientThat's fine.
- AgentBooked. You'll get a text confirmation now and a reminder the day before.
