The problem

New clinicians start at a busy clinic, the clinic lead is fully booked, and induction depends on who remembers what. Policies go unread, quizzes are skipped, and the education lead finds out at sign-off.

How it works

  1. Sends each new starter their day-by-day induction plan before day one
  2. Checks in each morning with that day's reading, sessions and shadowing
  3. Ticks off quizzes and sessions and reminds them of what is left
  4. Tells the education lead and clinic lead on Friday what is outstanding
  5. Passes any clinical question to the clinic lead or clinical director

Sample email thread
  1. Aroha (new physio)Hi, it's my third day at Albany. What am I meant to have done by now?
  2. AgentKia ora Aroha, it's Tama. By today you should have read the documentation standard, the privacy and consent policy and the ACC process guide. You've done the first two quizzes; the ACC one is still open.
  3. Aroha (new physio)Ok. And when's the in-service?
  4. AgentTuesday 7.30am at Takapuna. This week it's on shoulder rehab with Sione Taufa. I've added it to your calendar. You also have two shadow sessions with Priya left this week.
  5. Aroha (new physio)Great. One more thing, should I be using the new outcome measure on all my knee patients?
  6. AgentThat's a clinical question, so it's one for your Clinic Lead, Mark. I've sent him your question and he'll come back to you today.
