How does the TOTALMTD work?

TOTALMTD(
<expression>,<dates>[,<filter>]
)
How do you use the TOTALMTD?
This function will evaluate the specified expression over the interval which begins on the first of the month and ends with the last date in the specified date column after applying specified filters.

Considerations when using the TOTALMTD?
The dates argument can be any of the following:
- A reference to a date/time column.
- A table expression that returns a single column of date/time values.
- A Boolean expression that defines a single-column table of date/time values.
