The problem
Licence and medical dates sit in a spreadsheet the compliance manager checks when she has time. Drivers forget, an expired licence is found at a roadside check, and dispatch only learns a driver cannot go when the truck is already loaded.
How it works
- Texts each driver 60, 30 and 7 days before a licence, medical or dangerous goods ticket expires
- Takes a photo of the new card or the fit-for-duty result and files it against the driver
- Asks only for the expiry date and result, never medical details
- Tells dispatch and the compliance manager the same day if a driver can no longer be rostered
- Answers drivers' questions about what to send and by when, and passes anything about the rules to compliance
What it connects to
- AgentHi Hemi, it's Jess from Bluegum compliance. Your HC licence expires on 30 October. Have you renewed it yet?
- Hemi (driver)Not yet, been on the Townsville run all week. What happens if I don't get it done in time?
- AgentIf it expires, dispatch can't put you on a run until the new one is on file. You can renew at any Transport and Main Roads centre, and Willawong has one near the depot. Once you have it, just text me a photo of the front.
- Hemi (driver)Righto. I'll go Monday morning.
- AgentGreat. I'll check in with you on Monday afternoon. I've also noted with Kylie in dispatch that Monday morning is taken, so she won't roster you then.
