The problem
New starters on night shift rarely see anyone from people and culture after their first day. Problems surface when they resign in month two, and probation reviews get missed because nobody remembered the date.
How it works
- Checks in at 4 weeks, 3 months and 5 months by text or a short call
- Asks the same four questions about settling in, tools, anything unclear, and anything for the manager
- Sends a short summary to the manager and the people and culture manager
- Passes on safety, bullying or pay concerns the same day
- Books the probation review in the manager's calendar before month 6
What it connects to
- AgentHi Marcus, it's Jess from Bellbird Foods. You're nearly 5 months in, so I'm checking in. How are you finding the job at Laverton North?
- Marcus (production operator)Good mostly. The training on the new tray sealer was a bit rushed though.
- AgentThanks for telling me. I'll pass that on to Fiona Clarke so she can set up more time on the sealer. Is there anything else you'd like her to know?
- Marcus (production operator)No, that's it.
- AgentYour probation review with Fiona is due this month. She's free Tuesday 13 October at 10am or Thursday 15 October at 2pm. Which suits?
- Marcus (production operator)Thursday.
- AgentBooked for Thursday 15 October at 2pm in the Laverton North meeting room. I'll send a reminder the day before.
