How does the MAXA work?
MAXA Formula Syntax
MAXA(
<ColumnName>
)
How do you use the MAXA?
The MAXA function corresponds to MAX used as argument for all data types except for Boolean with a single column. When operating with a Boolean data type, MAXA considers TRUE to be 1 and FALSE to be 0.
The MAXA function executes MAXX internally for arguments which are not boolean, without any difference in performance.

Considerations when using the MAXA?
Empty cells are ignored. If no values can be used in the column, then MAXA returns 0 (zero).
If the text values are to be compared, use the MAX function.
